Yumex

Yumex pays homage to the graphics, typography and lettering of the YuMex music era in Yugoslavia. YuMex, as strange as it sounds, embodies the fusion of Mexican pop culture and Yugoslavian influences.

✑ About Yumex

Yumex is a vibrant type family inspired by the unexpected cultural crossover between Yugoslavia and Mexico in the 1950s. Blending bold sans-serifs with expressive scripts, it channels the visual language of cinema posters, music covers, and vernacular signage from that era. Designed by DualType and published by Ohno Type Co., Yumex offers seven weights in both sans and script styles—plus variable fonts—built with refined curves, lively alternates, and thoughtful multilingual support. The result is a contemporary, character-rich family that brings warmth, energy, and a touch of retro flair to any project.
